Legend
10. Legend
My Grandfather told us of a legend in Kathmandu.
It was a story about a statue called the green eyed little yellow god at the foot of Kathmandu.
The eyes were precious gems and they were believed to be cursed if removed from the statue.
The local people knew this so never ever touched the statue.
However a man came from a far off land and saw the statue.
He was in awe at the gems and thought that he must have them.
He waited until dark and he took one eye.
In the morning they found him.
He had died about one hundred meters from the statue and the eye was missing.
They never did find the eye but believe that it is held somewhere and whoever has it has the curse so will have a terrible life.
