14th of February

Hello and wishing you all the best for Valentine’s Day or as they say in America ‘the only day of the year to give flowers’. If you have someone to love that is great but if you do not have a valentine then you can do what some of us do….send yourself a bunch of flowers!!

f you are planning on sending roses don’t send just any colour. The colour of the roses is very important especially on Valentine’s day.

What do roses of different colours mean-

Coral Rose- desire
Lavender Roses -love at first sight
Orange Roses - enthusiasm, desire and fascination
Pink (Deep) - Thank You
Pink (Light) Rose - admiration, gentleness, grace, gladness, joy and sweetness
Pink Rose - happiness, gracefulness and gentleness
Red Roses -sincere Love, Respect, Courage & Passion
Red (Dark) Rose - unconscious beauty
Red (Single) - "I Love You"
Red & White Roses together -unity
Single Rose in any color - simplicity and gratitude
White Roses - Purity/heavenly, secrecy, silence, innocence and charm
White (Bridal) Rose - a happy love
Yellow Roses - joy, gladness, friendship and "I Care"
Yellow Rose with
Red Tip - friendship falling in Love

So if you are planning on romance do not send yellow roses or black for that matter.

Why not surprise a friend and just send them an anonomous card…that will keep them wondering.

The really cool thing to do these days in the view of saving the environment is to give a rose plant and that way the person can love the plant for years to come!! Hopefully….as long as you are not me who tends to kill them.

I know in Japan flowers are very important so it is important to get the colour right if you are sending some. There is no need to vitiate Valentine’s day (see meaning below).

Joke of the week-

What kind of flowers do you never give on Valentine's Day?

Word of the week

VISH-ee-ayt\ , transitive verb;

1.To make faulty or imperfect; to render defective; to impair; as, "exaggeration vitiates a style of writing."

2.To corrupt morally; to debase.

Mantra for this week

I love myself so that I can love others

(a mantra is something you say over and over to yourself to be a more positive person with a more positive outlook on life..try it…it really works)

Have a great week and don’t forget Valentine’s day is just a bit of fun……..and fun is good!
See you next time
