India- 先ずは、インドの結婚式から・・・・ Let's start with India. If you are interested, you can rent a movie called Monsoon wedding. This movie is about a typical Hindu wedding. Now for some of the cultural differences there are things such as "mehendi" which is henna. Henna is a paste which is used to make designs on hands and legs. The henna is put on the skin in a beautiful pattern and then taken off after a couple of hours. It lasts from one to two weeks on the skin very much like a temporary tattoo. Another custom is to cover the legs of the bride-to-be in a paste made of turmeric. It makes the skin take on a very orange glow. *Hindu wedding:ヒンズー経の結婚式 *Henna:ヘンナ染料 |

| Spanish Wedding 簡単、でもチョッと騒がしい?・・・ At many Spanish weddings, the men will be offered a cigar and the women a little present (usually something which looks and smells nice). At Spanish weddings plenty of loud firecrackers are used after the ceremony! cigar:葉巻,シガー |

German Wedding 皿洗いが少なくなるかも・・・・・? A traditional wedding in Germany lasts three days. On the first day, the couple is married in a civil ceremony, which only family and close friends attend. On the second day there is a big, informal party to celebrate. On the third day the religious ceremony and reception takes place. * During the big party that takes place on the second day, plates and dishes are smashed in a tradition called Poltrabend. The broken pieces are thought to bring good luck to the couple. The couple must then clean up the broken pieces together, symbolizing that nothing will be broken in their house again. This would be great to save on washing up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

Meditation- 瞑想はストレス解消にいいのよ The latest trend in relieving stress is meditation. It is something you can even do at work. It is a technique which is such an essential part of Buddhism and many of the martial arts. If you feel stressed, try meditation as it will most certainly help you stay in control of your mind and emotions. We all seek happiness and it comes from within us. |
