みんな!元気!?
Hello Everyone!

March! The month of madness! Well I think so because it is the month containing Saint Patrick’s Day. Now I do not know if you celebrate this day in Japan in general but the Irish clubs in Tokyo certainly do. Now let’s have a look at the symbols of the day…

聖パトリックの日
Saint Patrick

The patron Saint of the Irish called Saint Patrick and he was said to be born about 390 AD. He was not actually born in Ireland but he spent a great deal of his life there.

*聖パトリックの日(アイルランド:3月17日).
* The patron Saint :守護聖人
Beer
Green beer
Another symbol is green beer. This is truly an unbelievable site. If you want to do this at home you can but it is quite a shock at first to see green beer. (Just put green food coloring in beer)

Shamrock Shamrock
Then there is the shamrock (clover) and it is considered to be lucky. If we went to Ireland we would see a lot of people wearing badges in the shape of a shamrock.

*Shamrock:クローバー、コメツブツメクサ:アイルランドの国花.

Pot of Gold
虹の行く先には何があるの?
Pot of Gold
Finally there is the Pot of Gold. This truly a most mysterious symbol. It is said that if you see a rainbow then there will be a pot of gold at the end of it.

you drink enough green beer then you will feel like you are seeing little green men.

Well if you need something to celebrate then take this day and give it your green best. Here is an Irish Blessing…………

May your blessings out number
The shamrocks that grow

And may trouble avoid you…
Wherever you go.

NEW STORY………..

Coffee Time- This week in coffee time

Marcy is still talking on the telephone as usual. She is a real chatterbox. David continues to ski around the corner on the chair getting faster and faster as he slides on the black ink that has been spilt by Greg.

Greg sees him coming but cannot get out of the way in time.  Stacy yells, “Heads up”, but nothing cannot stop what is about to happen……..

Some new words-

Chatterbox- a person that just keeps on talking. It is a term often used by teachers to describe children that talk too much in class.

Heads up- this means look out or to alert you to something.

Usually used in the US. Example- I want to give you a heads up about tomorrow’s schedule- I want to tell you about the events for tomorrow.
