<みなさん!平和についてもう一度考えてみない?>
Hello Everyone!
At the moment it
seem like there is very little good news. As you know the bombing in Bali has
been a tragedy here in Australia and I read in the newspaper that there were
some people lost from Japan as well. It seems like the world we live in is now
very different. For us and for our children the world will never be the same
and it seems that we can only pray for peace. Now you might be sitting there thinking that there is nothing you can do
as one person in this big world but really there is a lot that you can do. If
you
want peace then
let’s all do something towards achieving peace. It is a good idea talk to
others. By talking about it you can find that others want the same things as
you. If you are learning English at a school then suggest that you talk about peace as a class topic. Now you may be thinking that it is a
difficult topic to talk about. It is difficult to express yourself but give it
a try and you will be surprised at how well you do. Here are some sentence
starters for expressing your opinion:
I think we can achieve peace by…..
I really believe that peace is achievable by……
In my opinion we can achieve peace by…….
Good luck and believe that you can do it then you are half way to achieving your goal!

OFFICE HUMOR
Who laughs the most?
Who works the longest hours?
Do you think that there is a difference between working in the US,Japan,
Canada and Australia.
What do you think the biggest difference would be?
Well people are people but in general the office in Japan is much quieter.
People talk less about their family in Australia than in the US. Koreans
work the longest hours followed by Australians. Japanese work long hours
of unpaid overtime and US workers spend more time laughing at work. So
if you are planning to work in the US you should know that the office will
be noisier and people will tell a joke or two in the office.

Travel Spot
If you love golf but you want to go to a place away from the main tourist spots. There is a beautiful golf course which is in fact one of the best resort courses in Australia. It is the Turtle Point Golf Course and it is where the Australian Skins Tournament is held. The resort is called Laguna Quays. For more information you can contact me or call 61 7 4947 7777. It is quiet and the golf course is for those staying at the resort so it is not too crowded. There are also a lot of things to do in the surrounding areas such as fossicking (looking for gold or precious gems).

Money- never enough
Do you find that you never seem to have enough money to do everything that
you want to do? Well, join the club. It seems all of us are in the same boat. Life is was not meant to be easy but it does not mean that you cannot
save money here and there so that you can have a holiday or buy something
that you really need. Here are the top ten suggestions to save a little
extra-
1.Turn lights off and all appliances when you are not using them (estimated
that you can save at least 10000yen a year if you are really careful maybe
even more especially if you unplug the appliances).
2.Keep a record of your spending to see where all the money goes and
then you can see if you can save in some by buying a cheaper product.
3.Keep a small container and put all your change in it from your
wallet or purse everyday. You will be surprised how it all adds up.
4.When you drive your car try to stay at a constant speed and do not
accelerate quickly and that will save you an amazing amount of money.
5.If you can walk or ride a bike somewhere it is better than using a
car.
6. Use half the amount of detergent to wash the dishes as we really do use
much more than we need to.
7.Try to buy things when they are on special especially during the New
Year sales.
8.Turn the Kotatsu down by one or two heat settings.
9.Try not to use your mobile for too long and keep the calls short as
this is a really big expense for most people.
10.Take your own lunch to
work and that can save you 20000yen a year. If two of you are working then that
is 40000yen.
That is all for this week….talk to you soon…keep smiling and know that
you are special…….
