Here is only one idea-

The joke is about how clinical our workplaces have become. Instead of telling someone they are doing a good job in the joke the company has provided a mechanical device. The employee has to push a button to get told he/she is doing a good job. So this is also a joke about automation in the workplace.

Pat on the back- is an idiom that means you did a good job so reward yourself. People say “ Give yourself a pat on the back for doing such a good job”.

rewarded for a good work.：良い仕事に対して報われる　
deserve:：値する、受けるにふさわしい
a pat on the back　：片をたたかれて、良くやったと激励されることですよ

つまり・・・・
「従業員は、いい仕事をしたら良くやったって褒められるべきだと信じているんだ。
自分で、良くやったて片をたたかれたいと思ったら、この赤いボタンを押して.・・・」
って事なんだけど・・・・・　意味が判ったかな？？？
